Pastor Sam serves as the Stated Supply Pastor of FPCS. He has held that position since 2016. Prior to serving at FPCS, Pastor Sam was the pastor of the Madisonville, Tennessee Presbyterian Church for 13 years. For 18 years, he was the pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Pastor Sam served Southminster Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 11 years until retirement in 2015.
Pastor Sam received a B.A. from Carson Neuman College. After that, he graduated from Vanderbilt Divinity School with a M.Div. Later, he earned a M.A. from the University of Tennessee in Religion Studies and Philosophy. Pastor Sam graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta with a D. Min. degree.
Pastor Sam and his spouse, Ann Carter Haun, a nurse practitioner, have been married for 50 years. They have two sons and two granddaughters, and with one dog and 4 cats
Pastor Sam enjoys golf (sometimes), gardening, reading both fiction and non-fiction, traveling, and spending time with his family. He enjoys and appreciates very much his work at FPCS.
