Pastor Tom & Pastor Gayle, received their training through the Presbytery
of Ohio Valley and Louisville Seminary, becoming Certified Ruling Elders in
the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA). After serving a church in Poland,
Indiana for two years, they then left their home and regular jobs in 2007 to
accept a commission to serve at The Buckhorn Lake Area Church
(PCUSA) in Buckhorn, Kentucky for over 15 years.
In April of 2023 Pastor Tom and Pastor Gayle joined the congregation here
at First Presbyterian Church to serve in ministry with them. During their
time here they have found the church members to be faithful followers of
Christ supporting one another in both in their personal relationships and the
shared mission of the church.
Like most churches within the PCUSA, our church has a small
congregation. Though small in numbers the membership strives to serve
the surrounding community with active ministry. It also allows members to
form close friendships and creates the opportunity for a more intimate
worship experience.
